He took over the company in 1997 and is now in charge of a leading crew company for crewing and delivery of commercial and private ships. After many succesfol jobs in crewing, sailing and mega motor yachts K.J. and his wife Majorie joined the crew as a captain and excellent cook of the following sailing racing yachts Liberator, Satanta, Kroos, Kialoa2, Brise, Bharlin Blue.
Commercial
Beside the private sector he gained a lot of knowledge in the salvage and towing while being in charge of the crew for many tugboats and commercial ships. He joined the crew for a lot of years now as a captain and first mate for many world wide known companies like Smit transport, Svitzer Wijsmuller, Acta Marine, Waterweg, Avra Towage, Smit Lloyd.

Brise Westzaan provides licensed professional seafarers specializing in yacht deliveries, yacht refit management, and long and short term operation for both power and sail yachts.
Based in Westzaan, The Netherlands. Brise westzaan is available not only for local captained yacht deliveries in the North Sea, Caribbean, South Pacfic and Mediteranean sea and other areas on request, but also for motor and sail yacht delivery world wide.
Brise Westzaan has accrued an abundance of yacht refit and repair experience throughout the world, not only in regular shipyards, but in make-do situations as well, representing owners in the determination of the scope of work, liaison and negotiations with contractors, and on site supervision. We have experience with Classification, Flag State compliance and ISM.
Brise Westzaan is also available to provide service in yacht captain relief and rotation roles as well as in trouble shooting and general problems solving.
Brise Westzaan Marine crew personnel are bondable, approved by insurance underwriters and fully licensed and certified by the USCG, MCA, GMDSS and STCW'95.
